Description

BACTIGRAS® (Smith & Nephew) is a sterile paraffin gauze dressing impregnated with Chlorhexidine, designed to provide antiseptic protection while allowing the wound to drain freely. It is soothing, non-adherent, and helps prevent infection in wounds, burns, and skin graft sites, reducing the risk of secondary contamination.

Indications

Protection of minor burns, scalds, and skin grafts
Dressing for lacerations, abrasions, and ulcerative wounds
Suitable as a primary wound contact layer under absorbent secondary dressings
Helps prevent infection in superficial and open wounds

Test Procedure & Performance

Application: Apply directly onto the wound surface, cover with suitable secondary dressing.
Performance: Non-adherent, soothing layer that allows exudate to pass through.
Storage Conditions: Store below 25 °C in a dry place.
Shelf Life: 3 years (unopened, sterile packaging).
